Chef's guide to creating the perfect honey roasted ham
Our Farm Shop team recommend the following instructions for best results using your glaze. Please note these cooking instructions are for guidelines only. You may need to adjust cooking times depending on your appliance.
Pre-heat your oven to maximum. Place the ham in an ovenproof dish and pour over the jar of glaze. Place in the hot oven and bake, basting every 10 minutes, until golden brown. This should take about 30 to 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven and carry on basting until the glaze coats the ham thoroughly.
For a hot dish:
Place the ham in an ovenproof dish, pour over the glaze and add half a cup of water. Loosely cover with foil and place in a moderate oven, basting every 30 minutes.
For the last 30 minutes, turn the oven to maximum. Remove foil and roast until golden brown.
To ensure it is hot, cook for 25 minutes per kg. We recommend you use a meat thermometer which should reach 75°C or higher.
