Hollyhock flower seeds
Part of our Head Gardener's Choice, these unusual yet beautiful Hollyhock flowers (Alcea rosea nigra) add a rich maroon/black colour to borders and flower beds. Perfect for a wildlife-friendly garden.
The seed is best started into growth in a cold frame, or open soil from April to August, with seedlings thinned to an inch apart. When large enough to be planted they should be placed from 12 to 18 inches apart in shade or partial shade, and kept moist.
