Chatsworth Lion Bookends

Bookends inspired by the Chatsworth Lions. The Chatsworth Lions, seen in the Sculpture Gallery, are copies of lions originally made by Antonio Canova for the Rezzonico monument in St. Peters, Rome.

The Sleeping Lion was made by Rinaldo Rinaldi and the Crouching Lion was made by Francesco Benaglia, each weighing 3.5 tonnes of Carara marble.


Product Details

Made in England by a family run business in Staffordshire.

Our sculpture is produced by a unique and proprietary dry casting process that was specially developed by the supplier. They use white Carrara marble and over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look and feel of natural marble.

This type of marble dry casting is authentic to the eye and touch, and can be highly polished. Carrara marble dry
casting is ultraviolet light resistant and is the only white cast material in the world that can offer this.

All sculptures are finished by hand and they can finish the sculpture in many patinas from new to ancient. 

Product Care
For cleaning use soap and water, or any household polish to clean. For stubborn stains, use nail varnish remover. 

Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Good outdoors all year round any weather conditions. 

Dimensions

Each bookend is approximately 15cm tall with a base of 9.5cm x 12.5cm, with each one weighing around 1.8kg. Made from a marble composite.
