Harris Tweed Scotland
Harris Tweed cloth is made from 100% British wool, sourced and produced on the remote islands of the Outer Hebrides.
All Harris Tweed is hand woven on a treadle loom at each weaver’s home on the Isle of Lewis, rather than at a mill. The wool is dyed prior to being spun as opposed to dying the yarn, to create a myriad of intricate shades and hues. The tweed is then returned to the mill to be finished by expert darners. The final process is the examination by the independent Harris Tweed Authority and the Orb Trademark is applied as the ultimate seal of approval.
